7-8.30 p.m. This session continues our series on how women can use the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) and Equality Impact Assessments (EqIAs) to make sure that when decisions are made about women, our needs and experiences are considered and acted upon! It follows on from previous sessions where Sarah Tanburn, campaigner and veteran equality assessor, has outlined how women can harness the power of the PSED and EqIAs to hold politicians and policy makers to account. All women are welcome.

On Wednesday 19th August, at 7 p.m., join FiLiA for an ONLINE event to hear about research into how women feel about the strip clubs in Cardiff and how YOU can help call time on Welsh strip clubs. Hear about the steps you can take to raise objections to licences and meet other women who want to campaign on this in Wales.

Join us online on Wednesday 5th August, from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., for a session exploring how the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) should work for women – and how understanding Equality Impact Assessments (EqIAs) can become a powerful tool for feminist challenge and change. The session will be led by Sarah Tanburn, campaigner and veteran equality assessor, who will guide participants through how PSED and EqIAs can be used to hold public bodies and Government to account.

On Friday 31st July, at 7pm, come along to FiLiA's Feminist Friday and find out more about how you can join our new campaign to close down strip clubs in Glasgow. On the night, we'll share FiLiA's latest research on women's feelings and experiences of in living in cities across the UK, including Edinburgh, that allow sexual exploitation to be licensed as entertainment. We are also about to launch a Scotland specific toolkit to support women to campaign effectively to close these venues down and a consultation in Glasgow to gather and amplify women's views on these venues. We're going to make sure that women are heard by the local authorities who approve these licences and we're going to hold them to account. Join us to get involved from the start and drive change for women in our city.

FiLiA's Feminist Friday – a precious women-only space.

On 29th May, join FiLiA and Bronagh Andrew from TARA, (Trafficking Awareness Raising Alliance), for a vital discussion on the reality of trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation in Scotland. Since 2004, TARA has operated as a specialist Glasgow City Council resource, providing a lifeline to women who have been trafficked to Scotland.

FiLiA's Feminist Friday (FFF) continues throughout 2026! A precious women-only space where we meet on the last Friday of the month. Each month will be different, with women continuing to influence the next month’s topic. FFF is for all women and we want you there. Join us for a special tour of the Marx Memorial Library and an archive workshop uncovering the life of Annie Mills – a little-known activist of the National Unemployed Workers’ Movement. Through her story, we’ll explore the hidden histories of working-class women who fought to change the world and discover how the Marx Memorial Library collections can be a resource for today’s trade unionists.

A Fairer Pathway to Settlement is a Home Office policy statement and public consultation, which was published in November 2025. FiLiA wants to make sure that women are considered within this consultation on ‘Earned Settlement’; that women's experiences and needs are centred. Come along to this focus group and we’ll take you through the consultation, outline the implications of the reforms and provide opportunities for you to have your say and to share your views and experiences. FiLiA will then draft a response to the consultation, which we will share with you and seek your comments on. A final draft will then be submitted to the Government. The focus group is for women only and places are prioritised for women with direct experience of immigration. This is a FiLiA Women's Assembly event.

Many women have raised concerns with FiLiA around plans for surrogacy law reform and this session aims to give women the opportunity to influence policy makers.
